Engaging in an addiction treatment program is a courageous and commendable step in your recovery, and the Harmony Healing Center is here to support you every step of the way. We have crafted our admissions process to be a seamless and compassionate experience that can reduce some of the stress you may experience when starting the rehab admission process.

What Is a Drug and Alcohol Addiction Rehab Facility?

Individuals living with a substance use disorder (SUD) and dual diagnoses often find that addiction treatment programs can play a pivotal role in their lives. Rehabilitation facilities work with individuals who have an SUD and craft an individualized and comprehensive treatment plan that addresses the root of their addiction and works to create a solid foundation for recovery.

There are two main categories for addiction treatment programs: inpatient and outpatient care programs. Each of these options consists of various treatment programs that are designed to support individuals with various symptoms and challenges related to their SUD. Examples of inpatient treatment programs include detoxification and residential rehabilitation programs, which can provide you with an immersive care experience. Outpatient care programs can include partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, routine outpatient programs, and aftercare treatment options. Your rehab admissions process will help your clinical team determine which treatment program would be the best fit for you based on the severity of your symptoms, mental health needs, and physical health needs.

What Is the Inpatient Rehabilitation Admissions and Intake Process?

Choosing to receive the care and support that you need to address your substance use disorder is a commendable step. You may find yourself wondering what the New Jersey addiction intake and rehab admission process looks like, so let’s talk about it! The first step in the admission process is conducting an initial in-person or virtual assessment.

From here, professionals can gauge your need for treatment and determine if their treatment programs would suit your needs. You may be asked to complete admission paperwork for rehab programming during this step. Next, they will take your information to verify your health insurance. Medical evaluations are completed to assess your overall health and to identify any health complications that may arise during your recovery. Your health provider will likely conduct a psychological assessment that explores your mental health in addition to social and psychological factors that could influence your treatment and recovery. They may also spend time discussing your support system and home environment.

Like a puzzle, the information gathered is put together to create a customized treatment plan that identifies the interventions, therapies, and other support services to support you in your treatment journey. During your facility orientation, you can expect to receive a brief tour of the facility and a discussion about the rules and expectations within the facility. Once you are acclimated to the treatment center and your treatment plan is developed, your rehab admissions process is complete, and you can begin your treatment journey!

What Is the Outpatient Rehabilitation Admissions and Intake Process?

Outpatient treatment center admission processes have some similarities to inpatient programs. However, there are distinct differences. Once you have contacted a treatment facility, you will need an initial assessment. Depending on the treatment facility, you may complete a brief assessment over the phone and schedule a time to complete the full assessment in person.

You may be asked to complete verification paperwork so that your treatment facility can help clarify the costs associated with treatment and discuss payment plan options if you do not have insurance coverage. Your intake assessment will gather essential information about your substance use history, mental health, and physical health and identify treatment goals. A psychosocial assessment is a common component of an intake assessment, which will explore your current mental health status, support network, and your home environment. A comprehensive medical assessment is used to identify any need for medication-assisted treatment and the use of psychotropic medications to support your recovery and mental health.

Once your rehabilitation facility intake is completed, the information gathered is used to create a personalized and comprehensive treatment plan that provides the support and encouragement you need for your recovery. You will then be provided with your treatment schedule and start date to begin your treatment program. The differences that you experienced in your addiction should be reflected within your treatment plan to ensure that you receive personalized and holistic care.

You are not alone if you feel overwhelmed by the rehab assessment process. Change can be uncomfortable, and committing to a treatment program is a significant step in your recovery. Our assessment process at the Harmony Healing Addiction Treatment Center in New Jersey allows us to formulate an effective care plan unique to you.

We begin our rehab admission requirements by completing relevant rehab intake documentation, including privacy agreements, consents of release, and other forms. You will then move into the meat and potatoes of your assessment. Your admissions coordinator will use various screeners and assessments to gather information about your substance use, which can include the CAGE assessment, Addiction Severity Index (ASI), Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory (SASSI), and the Drug Abuse Screening Test (DAST-10). Additional screeners may be used if you are experiencing mental health symptoms such as depression, anxiety, and trauma, or trauma-related concerns.

Please provide a urine sample to help in our assessment of your physical health needs. We recognize that the steps in our admissions process may seem daunting right now, and we encourage you to take a step forward and allow us to support you every step of the way.

Does My Health Insurance Cover the Full Drug and Alcohol Rehab Process?

Health insurance policies typically provide coverage for alcohol and drug treatment programs, though they may not be full. The amount of coverage you are eligible for depends on the details of your plan because insurance providers provide an array of products, and member coverage can fluctuate, allowing you to choose coverage that fits your needs and budget.

The Harmony Healing Alcohol and Drug Addiction Treatment Center can provide you with valuable support as you complete our rehab admissions requirements. How Much Does the Entire Treatment Process Cost in New Jersey (NJ)?

Effective treatment programs utilize various evidence-based approaches, which require a team of clinical professionals with the proper training and experience. These components of your care plan can impact the overall cost of treatment. Current legislation requires coverage from health insurance companies for addiction treatment, which can help keep the cost of your care down.

Before we estimate various levels of care, we must note that the numbers we provide may vary from the price of the treatment you receive. Addiction is a multifaceted and complicated disease that does not respond to a blanket treatment approach. Comprehensive and holistic programs are the gold standard for addiction care, meaning that your treatment plan may include medication-assisted treatment, vocational support, family counseling services, dual-diagnosis treatment, or other treatment modalities that provide you with the tools you need for a lasting recovery. The National Center for Drug Abuse Statistics quoted the following costs for treatment programs in 2022:

  • Drug and Alcohol Rehab Detox Process: $141,001
  • Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Programs: $50,469
  • Partial Hospitalization Programs: $12,000
  • Intensive Outpatient Programs: $17,250
  • Routine Outpatient Treatment Programs: $7,451

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is the most intensive outpatient program available at the Harmony Healing Addiction Center and includes the most programming during your five-days-a-week schedule. With a PHP, you can expect to participate in group counseling, individual counseling, educational sessions, outings, and alternative treatment options. A day in our intensive outpatient programming (IOP) can include several hours of group therapy three to five days each week and perhaps an individual counseling session.

Routine outpatient programming is entirely customizable, meaning you may participate in group therapy, individual therapy, or both once or twice a week. With each of our programs, you’ll have the option to receive medication-assisted treatment and dual-diagnosis treatment if you’re living with other mental health needs.
